How does Recon Aerial Conduct a Drone Survey?
Over several years we have developed an incredible efficient workflow. We drone mapping services focuses on land-using planning and industrial/commercial as-builts.
For a 100 acre site our boots-on-the-ground work is completed in less than a day, normally a few hours depending on the site.
Here is what we do:
- review the site,
- confirm the linework features to be included
- plan the flights and ground control positions,
- check the NTRIP survey correction network accuracy for the location,
- visit the mapping location, lay down aerial survey targets
- take the GNSS survey shots
- fly the mapping mission for the required GSD
- wrap it up
The direct file exports from our drone mapping/photogrammetric software include 3D model (.obj), point cloud (.las), elevations contours 1,2,3,5 feet (AutoCAD, .dxf), and a geo-referenced orthomosaic.
These exports are then further processed accoring to the desired horizontal and vertical datum to create accurate, feature rich AutoCAD exports.
